Introduction

Çocukların giysi tüketiminde sürdürülebilirlik bilincinin İncelenmesi. 9-10 yaş çocukların giysi tüketiminde sürdürülebilirlik bilinci, geri dönüşüm tutumları ve sürdürülebilir moda farkındalığı incelendi. Ebeveyn eğitimiyle ilişkisi belirlendi.

Abstract

Erken yaşlarda kazandırılan sürdürülebilirlik ve çevre bilinci, bireylerin yaşam boyu sürecek çevre dostu davranışlar geliştirmesi ve kaynakları bilinçli kullanması açısından büyük öneme sahiptir. Bu bağlamda gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmanın amacı, 9–10 yaş grubu çocukların giysi tüketim alışkanlıkları ile giysi geri dönüşümüne yönelik tutum ve davranışlarını, çevresel sürdürülebilirlik boyutunda sürdürülebilir moda anlayışı çerçevesinde incelemek ve bu tutumların ebeveynlerin eğitim düzeyi ile ilişkisini belirlemektir. Araştırma, nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeli ile desenlenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2023–2024 eğitim-öğretim yılında Sakarya ili Serdivan ilçesinde bir ilkokulda öğrenim gören, kolayda örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilmiş 134 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veriler, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Sürdürülebilir Moda Farkındalık Ölçeği” ile toplanmıştır. Veriler SPSS 26.0 programı ile analiz edilmiş; frekans, yüzde ve çapraz tablo analizleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları, çocukların genel olarak sürdürülebilir moda konusunda olumlu tutumlara sahip olduklarını, ebeveyn eğitim düzeyine göre yapılan analizler ise, lise ve üzeri eğitim düzeyine sahip anne-babaların çocuklarının sürdürülebilir moda farkındalıklarının daha yüksek olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.

The premise that early environmental education is crucial for fostering lifelong eco-friendly behaviors and conscious resource utilization underpins the significance of this inquiry, making it a valuable contribution to understanding the foundations of sustainable consumption. The methodology employed is a quantitative, relational screening model, utilizing a convenience sample of 134 students from a primary school in Sakarya province during the 2023-2024 academic year. Data collection was facilitated by a "Sustainable Fashion Awareness Scale" developed by the researchers, with analysis performed using SPSS 26.0, incorporating frequency, percentage, and cross-tabulation analyses. The findings are insightful: children generally exhibit positive attitudes towards sustainable fashion. More importantly, the study reveals a significant correlation between parental education level and children's sustainable fashion awareness, indicating that children of parents with a high school education or higher demonstrate greater awareness in this domain. This research offers compelling insights into the nascent stages of sustainable consumer behavior among children and underscores the influential role of parental background. The identification of a positive relationship between parental education and children's awareness highlights a critical pathway for intervention, suggesting that educational initiatives targeting both parents and children could amplify the impact of sustainability efforts. While the convenience sampling method and localized scope might limit generalizability, the study provides a robust foundation for future, broader research. Its findings are highly relevant for educators, policymakers, and parents, advocating for integrated educational programs that foster sustainable fashion awareness from childhood, leveraging parental engagement as a key component for long-term behavioral change.
