This paper investigates the crucial topic of employee discipline, examining the influence of a fingerprint attendance system and work motivation within the specific context of PT ASDA Perkebunan Aek Buru Selatan. Employing a quantitative approach and multiple linear regression with a sample of 34 employees, the study aims to understand how these factors contribute to employee discipline in a plantation setting. The core finding suggests that both the technological intervention (fingerprint system) and intrinsic employee motivation significantly impact discipline, with motivation emerging as the more dominant factor. This highlights a relevant area for organizational improvement, particularly in operational environments. A notable strength of this research lies in its clear focus on a practically important issue within a distinct organizational setting. The study contributes valuable insights for organizations grappling with employee discipline, offering a dual perspective that integrates both technological solutions and human motivational elements. The finding that work motivation has a more dominant influence than the attendance system provides a nuanced understanding, suggesting that while technological tools are beneficial, fostering intrinsic drive remains paramount. This empirical evidence, albeit from a single company, offers actionable recommendations for PT ASDA and potentially similar plantation enterprises looking to enhance their workforce's discipline. Despite its contributions, the study presents several limitations that warrant consideration. The sample size of 34 employees is relatively small, which could impact the statistical power and the generalizability of the findings beyond the specific context of PT ASDA Perkebunan Aek Buru Selatan. Future research would benefit significantly from expanding the sample size and scope to include multiple organizations or different industry sectors to enhance external validity. Furthermore, while the abstract mentions "positive and significant influence," a deeper exploration into the *mechanisms* through which work motivation exerts its more dominant influence, perhaps through qualitative methods, could provide richer insights. Addressing these areas would strengthen the broader applicability and theoretical contributions of this research.
