Review

This paper investigates the crucial relationship between entrepreneurial spirit, motivation, and the success of farming businesses within the community of Fenedanu Village, Somambawa District. The research addresses a highly relevant topic, as understanding the drivers of agricultural success, beyond mere technical proficiency, is essential for promoting rural economic development and food security, particularly in local contexts. Employing a quantitative research design, the study seeks to provide empirical evidence on how these psychological and behavioral factors contribute to the prosperity of local farming ventures. The research clearly states its objective and utilizes an appropriate methodology, namely multiple linear regression analysis, to test the hypothesized relationships. The findings robustly indicate that both entrepreneurial spirit and motivation exert a positive and significant influence on farming success, both when considered independently and in combination. This outcome underscores the importance of fostering these attributes among farmers to enhance their business outcomes, providing valuable insights for local agricultural policymakers and extension programs aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods. The conclusion directly aligns with the stated results, emphasizing the critical role of these factors. While the study presents clear findings, there are a few areas that could be strengthened for future iterations or a more comprehensive publication. The use of a purposive sampling technique with a relatively small sample size of 34 individuals might limit the generalizability of the findings, even within the specific village context. A broader sampling approach or a larger sample could enhance the external validity. Furthermore, while the abstract provides a general suggestion regarding the importance of these traits, the full paper could benefit from a more detailed discussion of the specific manifestations of entrepreneurial spirit and motivation within the Fenedanu farming community, perhaps with qualitative insights to complement the quantitative analysis, or a deeper exploration of the mechanisms through which these variables exert their influence on success. This would provide richer context and more actionable recommendations.
