Investigating islamic religious education learning through technology-based interactive quizzes: study of grade 6 students' experiences at sdn rondokuning. Explore how technology-based interactive quizzes boost motivation, engagement & comprehension in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) for grade 6 students. Study reveals improved scores & participation.
Purpose of the study: This study looks at how students' motivation, engagement, and comprehension of religious concepts are affected when technology-based interactive tests are used. The study analysed the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning experiences of sixth-grade pupils using interactive Wordwall-based tests as a cutting-edge teaching method. The problem of low student engagement and excitement for PAI learning was addressed with this strategy. Methodology: The study, which was carried out at SDN Rondokuning, Probolinggo, used an exploratory qualitative design. Data were gathered through direct classroom observations, in-depth interviews with educators and learners, and recording educational activities and test results. Thematic analysis was employed to find essential trends in the students' experiences. Triangulation procedures were used to guarantee the data's validity and reliability. Main Findings: The findings demonstrated that interactive tests considerably raised student interest, comprehension of religious content, and involvement. Average quiz scores rose by 15%, learner satisfaction improved, and participation rates rose from 60% to 90%. Students also showed improved social interaction, teamwork, and the incorporation of Islamic principles into their everyday lives. Effective school management can reduce technical limitations like erratic internet connectivity. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study is distinctive because it used an exploratory qualitative methodology to examine Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction at the elementary school level, accounting for cognitive development and emotional, social, and spiritual factors.
This study presents a timely and relevant investigation into enhancing Islamic Religious Education (PAI) through technology-based interactive quizzes, specifically utilizing Wordwall, for Grade 6 students. The primary objective was to assess the impact of this innovative teaching method on student motivation, engagement, and comprehension of religious concepts, addressing a perceived lack of excitement in traditional PAI learning. Employing an exploratory qualitative design at SDN Rondokuning, the research gathered data through direct observations, interviews, and activity recordings, analyzed thematically with triangulation to ensure validity. The findings are highly encouraging, indicating significant improvements in student interest, understanding, and participation, alongside notable quantitative gains in quiz scores and engagement rates. Overall, the study offers a promising pedagogical approach to vitalize religious education. A key strength of this research lies in its practical application and the robust positive outcomes identified. The reported increase of 15% in average quiz scores and a rise in participation from 60% to 90% are compelling indicators of the intervention's effectiveness. Beyond academic performance, the study commendably highlights qualitative benefits such as improved learner satisfaction, social interaction, teamwork, and the practical integration of Islamic principles into daily life. The exploratory qualitative methodology, with its focus on student experiences and consideration of cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual factors, positions this study as a valuable contribution to elementary-level religious education research, aligning with its claimed novelty. Furthermore, the acknowledgment of technical limitations and the role of effective school management in mitigating them add a layer of practical insight for implementation. While the abstract presents a strong case for the efficacy of interactive quizzes, a natural limitation arising from its exploratory qualitative design at a single school is the generalizability of its findings. The success observed at SDN Rondokuning, while significant, may not directly translate to diverse educational contexts without further validation. Future research could benefit from comparative studies across different schools or regions, potentially employing mixed-methods approaches to quantify and corroborate these qualitative insights on a larger scale. Additionally, while the abstract mentions considering emotional and spiritual factors as part of its novelty, the main findings, beyond increased satisfaction and principle integration, could be elaborated upon in the full paper to explicitly detail how these specific dimensions were observed and analyzed, providing deeper insights into the holistic impact of the intervention.
