Peta riset pendidikan guru pendidikan anak usia dini universitas negeri medan: analisis bibliometrik. Analisis bibliometrik riset Pendidikan Guru PAUD Unimed (2019-2023). Ungkap saturasi topik, tren baru (digital, speech delay), dan arahkan roadmap penelitian inovatif.
This study aims to map the research focus of undergraduate theses from the Early Childhood Teacher Education program at Universitas Negeri Medan between 2019 and 2023. The goal is to address topic saturation and identify emerging trends. Utilizing a qualitative bibliometric literature review method, 158 theses were collected from the Digilib Unimed repository and analyzed using VOSviewer, generating network and overlay visualizations of keywords. The co-occurrence analysis identified five main clusters. Dominant foci include the development of children aged 5-6 years (cognitive abilities, listening skills, gross motor skills) and parental upbringing styles. Other clusters highlight the roles of teachers, fine motor skills, numeracy development through learning media, and the adaptation of education to the digital era (online learning, child independence, and parental roles). Trend analysis, specifically through overlay visualization, revealed the emergence of new research foci such as speech delay, smartphone impact, collage, YouTube application, language ability, flash cards as media, lesson planning, science learning, and creativity, while older topics tend to show saturation. The interconnections among keywords demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of early childhood education. In conclusion, despite the saturation in some core research areas, this study uncovers a shift towards new and relevant trends. These findings are expected to guide innovative research and align the study program's research roadmap for the future.
This paper, "Peta Riset Pendidikan Guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini Universitas Negeri Medan: Analisis Bibliometrik," offers a valuable and timely bibliometric analysis of undergraduate theses from the Early Childhood Teacher Education program at Universitas Negeri Medan. The study's primary objective—mapping research foci, addressing topic saturation, and identifying emerging trends between 2019 and 2023—is well-defined and highly relevant for academic program development. Utilizing a qualitative bibliometric literature review method, the analysis of 158 theses with VOSviewer provides a robust approach to visualize and interpret the research landscape. The findings, including the identification of five main research clusters and a clear distinction between saturated and emerging topics, position this study as an essential resource for guiding future research within the program. The co-occurrence analysis effectively elucidated key research areas, with dominant foci centered on the development of children aged 5-6 (encompassing cognitive, listening, and gross motor skills) and parental upbringing styles. Beyond these established themes, the trend analysis, particularly through overlay visualization, successfully pinpointed the emergence of crucial new topics. These include contemporary issues such as speech delay, the impact of smartphones, the use of digital media like YouTube, and the broader adaptation of education to the digital era. This dual perspective—highlighting both persistent and nascent research interests—is invaluable for faculty and students alike, offering concrete data to inform topic selection and foster innovative research. The observed interconnections among keywords further underscore the inherently interdisciplinary nature of early childhood education, which is a critical insight for curriculum design and pedagogical approaches. While the study provides a comprehensive snapshot for its specific context, its findings are inherently limited to a single institution over a five-year period. Future research could benefit from a broader comparative analysis across multiple universities or an extended timeframe to identify more generalized national or regional trends in early childhood education research. Furthermore, while adept at mapping topics, the current analysis does not delve into the methodological quality or impact of the theses themselves, which could be a complementary area for future inquiry. Nevertheless, this paper delivers significant practical implications. It offers an excellent framework for Universitas Negeri Medan to strategically refine its research roadmap, guide students toward pertinent and impactful thesis topics, and potentially adapt its curriculum to align with current research trends and the evolving needs of early childhood education in the digital age.
