Pembelajaran IPA diberikan pada setiap jenjang Pendidikan baik SD, SMP, maupun SMA. Produk IPA dapat berupa konsep, teori, fakta, atau pun hukum. Peserta didik akan mempelajari banyak konsep yang berkaitan dengan IPA. Namun pada praktiknya peserta didik sering kali mengalami kesulitan untuk memahami konsep IPA dikarenakan banyak konsep IPA yang bersifat abstrak seperti kalor, sistem peredaran darah, struktur atom, fotosintesis dan banyak lagi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana media pembelajaran Augmented Reality (AR) dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik terhadap materi IPA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu studi literatur terhadap beberapa artikel terkait pengguanaan media AR terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta diidk. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa media pembelajaran AR dapat membantu peserta didik memahami konsep – konsep IPA karena dapat menggabungkan dunia maya dengan dunia nyata dan menghadirkan objek yang tidak dapat dilihat secara kasat mata. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan 1) media augmented reality merupakan salah satu bentuk revolusi teknologi di era society 5.0, 2) media augmented reality dapat memvisualisasikan objek yang tidak dapat dilihat secara kasat mata, dan 3) media augmented reality dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik karena dapat memvisualisasikan konsep – konsep IPA yang bersifat abstrak.
