These adults can be easily found by ornamental plant businesses in Bekasi. This study analyses the influence of individual intention, family support and capital availability on entrepreneurship initiation. This study took 60 respondents as ornamental plant business people in Bekasi. The test tool used in this study is a regression path analysis (path analysis) through the SPSS for Windows 21 program. The results of the study can be concluded that the variables of self-intention and family support have a positive and significant effect on the initiation of entrepreneurship, while the availability of capital does not affect the initiation of entrepreneurship. The coefficient of determination (adjusted R square) is about 0.828 or 82.8%. This shows that 82.8% of entrepreneurial initiation is influenced by individual intention, family support, and capital availability. While 17.2% is influenced by other factors outside the study
This study investigates the critical factors influencing entrepreneurship initiation, a highly relevant topic for economic development, particularly within specific local contexts like Bekasi, Indonesia. The title clearly outlines the variables under investigation: individual intention, family support, and capital availability, and the abstract provides a concise overview of the study's objective and primary findings. The application of regression path analysis suggests a quantitative approach aiming to examine the direct and indirect relationships among these factors, which is an appropriate method for exploring such complex social phenomena. However, several methodological aspects presented in the abstract raise concerns regarding the robustness and generalizability of the findings. A sample size of 60 respondents for path analysis, especially with three independent variables, is quite small and may lead to issues with statistical power, reliability of parameter estimates, and the generalizability of the results. The abstract's vague statement that "These adults can be easily found" suggests a convenience sampling method, which, if true, further limits the external validity of the study. Furthermore, while an adjusted R-squared of 0.828 (82.8%) might initially appear impressive, such a high value in social science research, particularly with a small sample, warrants careful scrutiny as it could potentially indicate issues like overfitting or a highly specific, possibly unrepresentative, sample. The finding that capital availability does not significantly affect entrepreneurship initiation, while individual intention and family support do, is a counter-intuitive result that challenges conventional wisdom and requires substantial theoretical discussion and justification within the main body of the paper. To enhance the rigor and credibility of this research, the authors should significantly elaborate on the methodological details in the full paper. This includes a precise description of the sampling strategy (e.g., probability vs. non-probability), a justification for the sample size in the context of path analysis, and details regarding the validity and reliability of the measurement instruments used for each variable. The discussion section must thoroughly address the unexpected finding concerning capital availability, exploring potential theoretical explanations or contextual factors unique to ornamental plant businesses in Bekasi that might explain this outcome, drawing comparisons with existing literature where capital is often highlighted as a crucial factor. Despite its current limitations in reporting, the study touches upon an important area. With substantial revisions focusing on methodological transparency and a deeper, more critical discussion of its findings, particularly the surprising non-effect of capital, this paper could make a valuable contribution to the literature on entrepreneurship initiation.
