Review

This article describes a highly relevant community engagement initiative focused on empowering cadres of the ASI Support Group (KP ASI) through comprehensive training. The title, "PEMBERDAYAAN KADER MELALUI PELATIHAN KELOMPOK PENDUKUNG ASI ARSYI," clearly indicates the core objective: strengthening local breastfeeding support systems. The abstract effectively conveys the critical role of KP ASI cadres in delivering basic health services and the necessity of equipping them with robust knowledge and skills. This project addresses a fundamental public health need, recognizing the established efficacy of KP ASI in promoting exclusive breastfeeding, making it a valuable endeavor for improving maternal and child health outcomes at the community level. The methodology employed for the training appears well-conceived, incorporating diverse pedagogical approaches such as lectures, demonstrations, role-playing, and simulations. This multi-modal strategy is commendable as it caters to different learning styles and is crucial for developing both theoretical understanding and practical competencies. The reported outcomes demonstrate significant positive impacts, with a 5.7-point increase in cadre knowledge regarding ASI fluency, breastfeeding issues, and oxytocin massage. Even more impressively, a 100% proficiency rate in massage techniques was achieved by the second observation, reflecting a substantial improvement from an initial average of 69.74%. These results strongly suggest the effectiveness of the training program in enhancing the capabilities of the cadres. While the abstract highlights positive outcomes, a more detailed presentation of the evaluation methodology would strengthen the reported findings. For instance, clarifying how the "5.7 point increase" in knowledge was quantified (e.g., scale range, type of assessment tool) and the statistical significance of this improvement would be beneficial. Similarly, detailing the criteria for observing and scoring the massage technique proficiency leading to the 69.74% initial average would add rigor. The recommendation to collaborate with local midwives for ongoing education is a practical and essential suggestion for sustaining the impact of the program. Overall, this initiative represents a successful intervention in community health, and a full paper would benefit from elaborating on the evaluation design, specific tools used, and potential plans for long-term follow-up and impact assessment.
