Abstract

Nascida em 1914 a Gia Dinh, antiga colônia francesa de Saigon e Indochina, atual Vietnã, Marguerite Duras fora profundamente marcada por tragédias e horrores da História, a primeira e principalmente a segunda guerra mundial. Não foi por acaso que se engajou em diversos combates coletivos: o comunismo, a luta pela independência da Argélia, o movimento de esquerda que foi determinante para maio de 68, o feminismo, a xenofobia, o racismo, dentre outros movimentos de militâncias. Contudo, para Duras é na escrita que manifesta o verdadeiro engajamento político. Se, no conjunto das obras, a autora aborda incessantemente ecos das tragédias de uma história individual: a Indochina colonizada, a miséria humana, as desigualdades sociais, os crimes da deportaçãonazista, o sofrimento judeu, a fome, a lepra, a miséria, a injustiça e a loucura simbólica, é porque sua história intensamente íntima, pessoal cruza com a História coletiva, na poética encantatória da existência mítica. That is why she has engaged to several collectiv fights: the communism, the fight for Argelia independence, the left movements that were determinant for May 68, the feminism, xenophobia, the racism, among several militancy movements. Therefore, Duras’ true engajament will be in her writing. If in the assemblage of her work, the author incessantly focuses echoes of her own history and individual tragedies: the colonized Indochina, the human misery, the social disparities, the crimes of nazi deportations, the jew suffering, the hunger, the leprosy, the misery, injustice and the symbolic madness, it is because her own history intensely intimate and personal crosses with the collective History in the enchantatory poetic of the mythic existence.
