This article proposes a compelling analysis of two short stories by Bolivian author Liliana Colanzi, focusing on their depiction of "sacrifice zones" within a Latin American context. The core argument, as outlined in the abstract, is to demonstrate how these marginalized spaces and their inhabitants – those rejected and accumulated as waste by the dominant system – can serve as a potent starting point for redefining "rejection." The paper aims to reveal how this redefinition can foster alternative forms of social aggregation and productive resistance against capitalism, precisely by reclaiming and revaluing the very residues the system expels. This interdisciplinary approach, bridging literary analysis with socio-critical theory, promises to offer a fresh perspective on contemporary Latin American literature and its capacity for social commentary. The strength of this proposed study lies in its innovative conceptual framework and its timely relevance. By centering on "sacrifice zones," the article taps into significant contemporary discussions around environmental degradation, social inequality, and the lived experiences of marginalized communities in Latin America. The idea of transforming "rejection" into a foundation for new social networks and anti-capitalist agency is particularly intriguing, suggesting a re-evaluation of agency within what might traditionally be perceived as spaces of despair. Focusing on Liliana Colanzi, a prominent voice in contemporary Latin American literature, further grounds the analysis in current scholarship, offering the potential to deepen our understanding of her work and its broader implications for regional identity and resistance. While the abstract presents a highly promising and original inquiry, a full review would particularly scrutinize the methodological and theoretical clarity behind the "redefinition" of rejection and the generation of "networks." The paper will need to robustly illustrate how the close reading of Colanzi's narratives concretely manifests these alternative forms of social aggregation and productive reactions to capitalism. Furthermore, a deeper articulation of the theoretical lineage or framework underpinning this redefinition would be beneficial. It would also be valuable to explore the specific characteristics of these proposed networks – how they function, what forms they take within the literary texts, and what broader implications they hold for understanding resilience and resistance in Latin American "sacrifice zones."
