Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes the importance of student-centered learning and the development of 21st century competencies. This is in line with the development of the times that require individuals to have the ability to think critically, creatively, collaboratively, and communicate (4C). To achieve this goal, the use of innovative learning media is very relevant. InteraSolve-Book, an interactive learning media, provides opportunities for students to learn actively, and provides a better understanding for students with various learning styles in the material on ecosystem imbalance in grade V of Elementary School. This development research uses the 4D method from Tiagarajan through 4 stages: define, design, develop and disseminate. Feasibility data was obtained from linguist validation instruments, learning media experts, and learning material experts. Meanwhile, practicality data was obtained from a questionnaire of model teachers who carried out learning with IntersSolvE-Book. The feasibility level was obtained at 73.21% for language, 97.5% for media and 86.54% for learning materials. In terms of practicality, InteraSolvE-Book got a 98% result. Thus, InteraSolvE-Book has been tested to be feasible and practical to be used in learning.

Review

This paper presents a timely and relevant endeavor to develop innovative learning media, InteraSolve-Book, for the IPAS subject in elementary schools, specifically targeting ecosystem imbalance in Grade V. The work is well-aligned with the mandates of the Merdeka Curriculum and the broader educational push for fostering 21st-century competencies, notably critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication (4C skills). By focusing on student-centered and interactive learning, the proposed media has the potential to address diverse learning styles and enhance active engagement, which is crucial for a deeper understanding of complex scientific concepts at this educational level. The abstract clearly articulates the problem and the proposed solution's educational rationale. The methodology employed, the 4D model by Tiagarajan (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), provides a structured and systematic approach to the development process. The evaluation of InteraSolve-Book focused on both feasibility and practicality, utilizing expert validation from linguists, media specialists, and material specialists, alongside a practicality questionnaire administered to model teachers. The reported high percentages for feasibility (73.21% for language, 97.5% for media, 86.54% for learning materials) and an impressive 98% for practicality are robust initial indicators. These figures strongly suggest that InteraSolve-Book is well-constructed, professionally designed, pedagogically sound, and readily usable by teachers in the classroom. While the study successfully demonstrates the feasibility and practicality of InteraSolve-Book, the abstract primarily focuses on the *development and initial validation* of the media. To further strengthen the contribution, future research should ideally delve into the *effectiveness* of InteraSolve-Book in actually improving student learning outcomes, enhancing engagement, and fostering the targeted 4C skills. Empirical data on student performance, qualitative insights into student and teacher experiences, and details on the 'disseminate' stage of the 4D model would provide a more comprehensive understanding of its impact. Nevertheless, this research presents a highly promising interactive learning tool that demonstrably meets contemporary educational standards and holds significant potential for enriching elementary science education.
