This study meticulously investigates the utilization of civil engineering electronic journals by students within the Building Engineering Education program at Universitas Negeri Semarang, aiming to identify dominant utilization factors and their influence on user satisfaction. Employing a quantitative, ex-post facto research design, the authors surveyed students from recent cohorts (2020-2023) using questionnaires. The analytical approach involved descriptive statistics, t-tests, and simple linear regression. The core findings indicate that computer literacy is the most dominant factor influencing e-journal utilization (84.64%), while relevance to user needs accounts for the highest level of satisfaction (75.08%). The research also established a significant influence of utilization factors on user satisfaction, explaining 48.1% of the variance. The research provides valuable insights into the adoption and satisfaction surrounding digital learning resources in a specialized academic field. By identifying specific drivers such as computer literacy and the perceived relevance of content, the findings can directly inform strategies for university libraries and educational programs aiming to optimize the use of subscribed electronic journals. The quantitative methodology, utilizing established statistical tests, lends credibility to the reported relationships between utilization factors and user satisfaction. This localized study enriches the broader understanding of technology acceptance in an educational context, particularly within vocational and technical disciplines. While the study offers useful insights, the abstract suggests areas for potential expansion and refinement. The title explicitly mentions the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), yet the abstract's findings, while aligning with TAM's constructs (e.g., computer literacy aligning with perceived ease of use, relevance with perceived usefulness), do not explicitly discuss how TAM was applied or its specific constructs measured. A clearer articulation of TAM's role in the analysis would enhance its theoretical contribution. Furthermore, the finding that over half (51.9%) of user satisfaction is influenced by unstudied variables highlights a significant limitation. Future research could broaden the scope to include additional factors, such as service quality, technical support, content diversity beyond civil engineering, or even social influence, to provide a more holistic understanding of e-journal satisfaction in this specific academic environment.
