The problems in this study are as follows: (1) How are the speaking skills of Class X Students at SMK PERTIWI (2) What are the Factors Affecting Speaking Skills at SMK PERTIWI?, (3) What is the Solution to Improve Speaking Skills SMK PERTIWI. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The validity of the data used triangulation techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification. The subjects selected were class X with a total of 20 students. The results of this study can be concluded: (1) The speaking skills of class X students of SMK PERTIWI are very good from 28.7% to 84.6%, (2) The factors that influence students' speaking skills are internal factors including factors from themselves and students' family backgrounds while external factors include community and school environmental factors, (3) solutions to improve students' speaking skills, namely: using interesting learning media, applying speaking practice methods, providing motivation to speak to students, and familiarizing students in discussing group. Through the research entitled "Analysis of Speaking Skills Through the Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students at SMK PERTIWI" generally classified as very good.
This study provides a descriptive qualitative analysis of speaking skills among Class X students at SMK PERTIWI, exploring their current proficiency, influencing factors, and potential solutions for improvement. Utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation, the research engaged 20 students to address its three primary questions. The findings suggest that students' speaking skills are generally "very good," with a reported range from 28.7% to 84.6%. Identified influencing factors include both internal aspects, such as self-perception and family background, and external elements like community and school environments. The proposed solutions—interesting learning media, consistent practice, motivation, and group discussions—offer practical strategies for educators aiming to enhance students' communication abilities, which is particularly relevant in vocational education settings. While the study's use of multiple qualitative data collection methods and the mention of triangulation for data validity are commendable strengths, several aspects require further clarity and elaboration. The most significant concern is the weak connection between the study's title, which highlights the "Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students," and its absence in the abstract's methodology or findings. It remains unclear how this project specifically influenced or was integrated into the analysis of speaking skills or the proposed solutions. Furthermore, the quantitative figures ("from 28.7% to 84.6%") used to describe "very good" speaking skills in a descriptive qualitative study are confusing and need a detailed explanation of their derivation and meaning. This apparent blending of qualitative description with specific quantitative percentages without methodological justification introduces ambiguity regarding the nature and interpretation of the results. Despite these areas needing clarification, the research provides valuable initial insights into the complexities of speaking skill development in a specific vocational context. The identified internal and external factors offer a comprehensive perspective for educators, and the suggested solutions are practical and actionable. For future studies, it would be beneficial to explicitly detail the role of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project and to clarify the methodology behind any quantitative metrics reported in a qualitative design. A more robust articulation of the research design, particularly regarding the integration of qualitative and quantitative elements, would significantly enhance the study's credibility and impact. Overall, the paper contributes to understanding speaking skill challenges and potential remedies, but would benefit from greater methodological transparency and a clearer focus on the thematic elements in its title.
