Abstract

O objetivo do presente estudo consiste em descrever e analisar a lexicalização da modalidade volitiva por meio da construção perifrástica estar por + infinitivo. Para isso, foi adotado o modelo de gramática funcional da perspectiva funcionalista de linha holandesa, a Gramática Discursivo-Funcional de Hengeveld e Mackenzie (2008). Ao ser adotado esse modelo teórico de descrição e análise linguística, busca-se a integração dos aspectos pragmáticos, semânticos e morfossintáticos no que tange à manifestação de desejos, vontades, intenções e esperanças dos participantes da interação ao fazerem uso da modalidade volitiva. Assim, foram selecionadas ocorrências da construção perifrástica estar por + infinitivo em páginas da web, como notícias, blogs, fóruns, webcomentários, etc., e produzidas por falantes nativos de língua espanhola. As análises revelaram que o operador modal estar por + infinitivo atua, preferencialmente, nas camadas da Propriedade Configuracional e do Estado-de-Coisas, cujo sujeito sintático do modal possui o traço semântico de animacidade [+humano] e instaurando o valor modal volitivo de intenção.
