Studi mengukur BOR, LOS, TOI, BTO, & berikan rekomendasi optimalisasi rawat inap.
Tingkat efisiensi layanan rawat inap dapat diukur melalui beberapa indikator kinerja, yaitu BOR, LOS, TOI, dan BTO. Standar ideal untuk setiap indikator telah ditetapkan. Rumah Sakit Wilayah Surakarta memiliki kapasitas 100 tempat tidur.
This study addresses a critical aspect of hospital management: the optimization of bed utilization efficiency at a Surakarta hospital in 2023. By employing standard performance indicators such as Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR), Length of Stay (LOS), Turn Over Interval (TOI), and Bed Turn Over (BTO), alongside the Barber Johnson graph, the research provides a foundational assessment of inpatient service efficiency. The methodology, involving daily inpatient data collected through direct observation and interviews, aims to ensure data accuracy, and the subsequent data processing stages are clearly outlined. The findings offer valuable insights into the current state of bed utilization across various wards, indicating areas where efficiency falls short of ideal standards, particularly concerning BOR and BTO in specific wards. While the study presents a relevant initial analysis, several aspects warrant further development for a more robust understanding. The explicit reliance on univariate analysis limits the exploration of complex interdependencies between various factors influencing bed utilization, potentially overlooking root causes for suboptimal performance. A notable limitation is the selective reporting and calculation of BTO, which was only performed for "Bangsal Bougenvile" and indicated "only Bangsal Anggrek" as non-conforming, raising questions about the completeness of the analysis across all wards. Furthermore, the recommendation for bed relocation from Bangsal Dahlia to Bangsal Bougenvile, while potentially sound, lacks a deeper analytical justification within the abstract regarding patient flow dynamics or demand forecasting specific to these wards. Similarly, the suggestions for "intensive promotion" and "community empowerment" are rather broad and could benefit from more specific, data-driven strategies for increasing hospital attractiveness. In conclusion, this study offers a pertinent initial evaluation of bed utilization efficiency at RS Surakarta, providing a useful snapshot of current performance using established metrics. Its primary contribution lies in identifying specific wards requiring attention and flagging the overall need for improved bed management. To enhance the practical applicability and academic rigor, future work should consider employing multivariate analysis to uncover deeper causal relationships and to provide a more comprehensive picture. Additionally, a more detailed cost-benefit analysis of the proposed bed relocation, coupled with specific, measurable strategies for promotion and community engagement, would strengthen the actionable recommendations. Overall, this research lays the groundwork for strategic improvements in hospital resource management, though a more comprehensive and granular analytical approach would be beneficial for future iterations.
