Abstract

Tämän integratiivisen katsauksen tarkoituksena oli kuvata Hoitotiede-lehdessä julkaistua terveysalan koulutustutkimusta. Aineisto kerättiin vuosina 1989–2023 julkaistuista Hoitotiede-lehdistä ja se muodostui terveysalan koulutusta käsittelevistä artikkeleista (n=98). Aineisto analysoitiin luokittelemalla artikkeleiden sisältö mukaillen aiemmin kehitettyä luokittelurunkoa. Tulosten mukaan terveysalan koulutustutkimuksen määrä on lisääntynyt viime vuosina. Tutkimus on kohdentunut opiskelijoiden oppimiseen ja oppimistuloksiin, hoitotyön opettajiin ja opettamiseen ja koulutuksen rakenteellisiin tekijöihin. Tutkimus on kuitenkin kuvailevaa ja aiheeltaan hajanaista. Tutkimuksissa käytetyt aineistot ovat pieniä ja ne kohdistuvat pääasiassa terveysalan opiskelijoihin ja opettajiin. Jatkossa tarvitaan lisää tutkittua tietoa, koulutusmuutoksista yhteiskunnassa ja koulutuksen tulevaisuuden ennakoinnista, mutta myös koulutuksen historiasta. Lisäksi tarvitaan menetelmällisesti monipuolisia tutkimuksia kuten implementaatio-, interventio-, pitkittäis- ja seurantatutkimuksia sekä satunnaistettuja vertailututkimuksia.

In light of these findings, the paper makes crucial recommendations for future research. It emphasizes the need for studies that address the broader societal transformations impacting education, engage in future-oriented foresight, and explore the historical context of health education. Crucially, the authors advocate for a significant methodological shift, urging the adoption of more robust designs such as implementation research, intervention studies, longitudinal analyses, follow-up studies, and randomized controlled trials. This review thus serves as an invaluable guide for researchers, pinpointing both the progress made and the critical gaps that need to be addressed to advance the rigor and relevance of health education research.
