Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of Aswaja ruqyah therapy in addressing non-medical disorders, particularly those related to psychological issues such as stress, anxiety, and emotional disturbances. The method used is a qualitative approach involving in-depth interviews with patients undergoing ruqyah therapy, as well as observations of the therapeutic practices. The results of the study indicate that Aswaja ruqyah therapy has a positive impact on mental and emotional well-being, with many patients reporting feelings of greater calmness and a reduction in anxiety symptoms. This study recommends the implementation of ruqyah therapy as an alternative in non-medical treatment to support community mental health. In conclusion, Aswaja Ruqyah is effective as a spiritual therapy that can aid emotional and psychological recovery and is acceptable within a more holistic treatment context.

Review

This study introduces Aswaja ruqyah therapy as a Quranic-based non-medical approach to address psychological issues such as stress, anxiety, and emotional disturbances. Employing a qualitative methodology involving in-depth interviews and observations, the research highlights a positive impact on patients' mental and emotional well-being, with many reporting increased calmness and reduced anxiety. The abstract positions this therapy as a viable alternative for community mental health support, concluding that Aswaja Ruqyah is effective as a spiritual therapy for emotional and psychological recovery within a holistic treatment framework. The qualitative approach taken, utilizing in-depth interviews and direct observations, is a commendable strength for exploring the subjective experiences and perceived benefits of spiritual healing practices. This method is well-suited to gather rich, nuanced data on how patients personally interpret and respond to the therapy, providing valuable insights into their individual healing journeys. However, while the abstract refers to the "effectiveness" of the therapy, this claim should be understood within the context of qualitative inquiry, primarily reflecting patient-reported outcomes rather than objectively measured efficacy. The full paper would benefit from elaborating on the specific parameters of the observations and interviews, including participant demographics and the thematic analysis framework used. The recommendation to implement ruqyah therapy as an alternative non-medical treatment is significant, particularly in communities where such spiritual interventions are culturally and religiously resonant. However, to solidify the claim of "effectiveness" and facilitate broader integration into a "holistic treatment context," future research might consider a mixed-methods approach. Incorporating quantitative measures, such as standardized psychological assessments and comparative studies with control groups, could provide more objective data on outcomes and efficacy. The complete manuscript should also thoroughly discuss the study's limitations, including potential for researcher bias, the role of the placebo effect, and the generalizability of findings, while also outlining specific future research directions for this promising area.
