Abstract

This study examines the reconstruction of character education based on the philosophy of prophetic education in the digital era, which serves as a new alternative in the field of education. The main challenge currently faced by the education sector is how to maintain a balance between technological advancement and the development of strong character. The implementation of character education grounded in the philosophy of prophetic education in the digital age is expected to produce a generation that is not only intelligent but also possesses strong moral character. This study employs a library research method. Library research is a data collection technique aimed at gathering information from written documents, both official records and other scholarly sources. Once the data is collected, it is processed by analyzing the existing information to address the research problem. The content analysis method is used to interpret ideas and identify their relevance to the issues being investigated. The results of this study indicate that the reconstruction of character education based on the philosophy of prophetic education in the digital era represents one of the innovative ideas to help the Indonesian education system evolve amidst the challenges of the digital age.

Review

This study tackles a highly pertinent and pressing issue concerning the reconstruction of character education in the rapidly evolving digital age, proposing the philosophy of prophetic education as a novel framework. The authors clearly articulate the central challenge for contemporary education: the imperative to harmonize rapid technological advancement with the cultivation of robust moral character. The stated aim is to develop a generation that is not only intellectually capable but also ethically sound, positioning this research as a potentially significant contribution to ongoing educational reform discourse, particularly within the Indonesian context. The premise of integrating prophetic education principles to navigate digital challenges is compelling and offers a unique perspective on a universal educational dilemma. The methodology employed is described as library research, utilizing written documents and scholarly sources, followed by content analysis to interpret ideas and establish relevance. This approach is well-suited for theoretical and conceptual explorations, enabling the synthesis of existing knowledge to construct a foundational argument for how prophetic education philosophy can inform character development. However, the abstract's presentation of "results" might be more accurately framed as conceptual findings or theoretical propositions derived from this analysis, rather than empirical outcomes. While appropriate for a conceptual paper, the abstract does not detail the specific sources, theological foundations, or theoretical lenses within prophetic education that inform this reconstruction, which could enhance the robustness and transparency of the argument. The study concludes that its proposed reconstruction offers an innovative idea for the Indonesian education system, suggesting a potential path for evolution amidst the complexities of the digital age. This conceptual outcome is valuable in outlining a theoretical direction for curriculum development and pedagogical approaches. To further solidify its impact and move beyond a purely conceptual framework, future research could delve into the practical implications of implementing such a framework. Exploring specific educational models, curriculum designs, or pilot programs where elements of prophetic education have been integrated would provide tangible examples and significantly strengthen the claims regarding its viability as a "new alternative" for fostering intelligent and morally strong generations in the digital era.
