Problema orang tua dalam melanjutkan pendidikan anak. Pelajari faktor penyebab orang tua sulit melanjutkan pendidikan anak ke SLTA, meliputi masalah ekonomi, minat anak, dan pengaruh lingkungan sosial. Temukan upaya solusi di Gerung Selatan.
This study aims to analyze the factors that cause parents not to continue their children's education to SLTA and the efforts made to overcome these problems. This research employs a qualitative approach using observation and interviews with parents, students, and school representatives. The findings indicate two main factors influencing parental decisions: internal and external factors. Internal factors include children's lack of interest in learning and the dominance of psychomotor skills, which make them more inclined to work rather than continue schooling. External factors include economic difficulties, low parental education levels, weak parental control over children's education, and social environment influences that prioritize economic success through direct employment. Despite these challenges, the community in Gerung Selatan Village has made efforts to support children's education, such as preparing educational facilities by improving family economic conditions and conducting awareness campaigns about the urgency of education in collaboration with the government, schools, and universities in West Lombok and Mataram
This study, "Problema Orang Tua dalam Melanjutkan Pendidikan Anak," addresses a highly pertinent societal issue concerning the continuation of children's education to the Senior High School level. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing observation and interviews with a multi-stakeholder group including parents, students, and school representatives, which is well-suited for exploring the nuanced and complex factors at play. A significant strength lies in its comprehensive identification of both internal factors, such as children's lack of interest and inclination towards work due to psychomotor skills, and external factors, including economic hardship, low parental education, weak parental control, and prevailing social norms that prioritize immediate economic gain. While the abstract clearly outlines the identified factors, a deeper engagement with the methodology and analytical framework could further strengthen the paper. For instance, more specific details on the number and selection of participants, the structure of interviews, and the methods for analyzing qualitative data would enhance the study's methodological rigor. Furthermore, the abstract lists factors but does not indicate how the study explores the *interplay* or *relative importance* of these elements. A discussion on how these internal and external factors interact, reinforce, or mitigate each other would provide a more sophisticated understanding of the problem. Additionally, while community efforts are mentioned, a more detailed description of the specific initiatives, their implementation, and their perceived effectiveness would enrich the practical implications of the findings. Overall, this study makes a valuable contribution by illuminating the multifaceted barriers to educational continuity within a specific community context in Gerung Selatan Village. By not only dissecting the problems but also highlighting community-led efforts and collaborations with external bodies, the research offers practical insights for interventions aimed at improving educational attainment. The findings underscore the critical need for integrated approaches that address economic disparities, foster parental engagement, challenge social norms, and stimulate children's interest in learning. This paper serves as a vital foundation for further research and policy development in the area of educational support and community empowerment.
