Zadania dobierane były zgodnie z założeniami programowymi Komitetu precyzowanymi od 1990 roku. Dysponowano kwotą ponad 37 mln zł, z czego 37 mln pochodziło z dotacji Kancelarii Prezydenta RP. Wkład własny beneficjentów wyniósł ponad 41 mln zł. Realizowano 142 zadania w 102 obiektach. Na Wawelu najistotniejsze zadania to konserwacja hełmu wieży Zegarowej katedry oraz piwnic Zamku Królewskiego. W historycznym centrum miasta prowadzono prace we wszystkich kościołach i licznych zabytkach świeckich. Prace na Kazimierzu akcentowały charakter tego krakowskiego satelity, wiążącego tradycje chrześcijańskie i żydowskie. Istotne znaczenie miały prace na obrzeżach miasta, w zespołach sakralnych Tyńca, Mogiły i Bielan oraz w fortach austriackiej Twierdzy Krakowskiej.
