Abstract

Banyaknya salon kecantikan yang sukses bermunculan di kalangan masyarakat bukan dari latar belakang Pendidikan Tata Kecantikan. Hal ini menjadi tantangan bagi lulusan Pendidikan Tata Kecantikan, untuk juga dapat meningkatkan usaha salon kecantikan yang dimiliki hingga sukses. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh dan seberapa besar pengaruh Pendidikan Tata Kecantikan, sarana, prasarana pendidikan dan motivasi berwirausaha terhadap tingkat kesuksesan usaha kecantikan pada lulusan Prodi Pendidikan Tata Kecantikan UNNES. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian ex post facto. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik total sampling dengan jumlah sampel 12 lulusan Prodi Pendidikan Tata Kecantikan UNNES yang memiliki salon di Jawa Tengah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini ialah analisis deskriptif, uji korelasi rank spearman, dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya masing-masing korelasi sebesar 0,894; 0,291; 0,328; dan 0,839 serta koefisien determinasi sebesar 77,9%; 8,4%; 10,7%; dan 70,4% antara Pendidikan Tata Kecantikan, sarana, prasarana pendidikan, dan motivasi berwirausaha terhadap tingkat kesuksesan usaha kecantikan pada lulusan Prodi Pendidikan Tata Kecantikan UNNES. Simpulan penelitian ini ialah adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dan kuat antara Pendidikan Tata Kecantikan dan motivasi berwirausaha terhadap tingkat kesuksesan usaha kecantikan lulusan Prodi Pendidikan Tata Kecantikan UNNES dan pada sarana prasarana pendidikan tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dan berpengaruh kecil terhadap tingkat kesuksesan usaha kecantikan pada lulusan Prodi Pendidikan Tata Kecantikan UNNES

This study investigates the critical factors influencing the success of beauty businesses, specifically focusing on graduates from Beauty Education programs. The authors aptly identify a pertinent issue: the challenge faced by formal Beauty Education graduates in a market where many successful beauty establishments are run by individuals without such formal backgrounds. The research directly addresses this by aiming to quantify the impact of formal Beauty Education, educational facilities, infrastructure, and entrepreneurial motivation on the success levels of beauty businesses owned by graduates of the UNNES Beauty Education program. This objective is clearly articulated and positions the study as relevant to vocational education outcomes and entrepreneurial development in the beauty industry. Employing an *ex post facto* research design, the study utilized a total sampling technique, surveying 12 UNNES Beauty Education graduates who operate salons in Central Java. Data collection was performed through questionnaires and documentation, subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics, Spearman's rank correlation, and the coefficient of determination. The findings reveal a strong positive correlation and significant influence of both Beauty Education (correlation 0.894, R-squared 77.9%) and entrepreneurial motivation (correlation 0.839, R-squared 70.4%) on business success. Conversely, educational facilities (correlation 0.291, R-squared 8.4%) and infrastructure (correlation 0.328, R-squared 10.7%) demonstrated a much smaller and non-significant impact on the success rates of these beauty businesses. While the study offers valuable insights into the differential impact of various factors on entrepreneurial success within the beauty sector, its primary limitation lies in the exceptionally small sample size of only 12 participants. Such a restricted sample significantly compromises the generalizability and statistical robustness of the reported correlations and coefficients of determination, making it challenging to draw broad conclusions. Nevertheless, the emphasis on formal education and entrepreneurial motivation as strong predictors of success is a pertinent finding, suggesting that curriculum development and entrepreneurial training should be prioritized in vocational beauty programs. Future research should aim to validate these findings with a substantially larger and more diverse sample to enhance external validity and provide a more comprehensive understanding of the complex interplay of these factors in the dynamic beauty industry.
