Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents both opportunities and risks for adolescents, particularly when digital literacy and ethical awareness have not been adequately developed. Limited understanding of the ethical use of AI may encourage various forms of misuse, such as digital identity fraud, image manipulation, and privacy violations. This psychoeducational program aimed to improve AI literacy and digital ethics among madrasah students. The program involved students of MA Sultan Hasanuddin using a one-group pre-test – post-test design. The research instrument consisted of multiple-choice questions administered through Kahoot, while data were analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ understanding between the pre-test and post-test scores, with a medium effect size. These findings suggest that the psychoeducational intervention was effective in enhancing students’ AI literacy and digital ethics and are consistent with Gagné’s Nine Events of Instruction, which emphasize the importance of systematic content delivery, feedback provision, and learning evaluation in improving understanding and knowledge retention. Therefore, the psychoeducational program was proven effective in improving AI literacy and digital ethics among madrasah students and may serve as a foundation for the sustainable development of technology ethics education in school settings.
