Review

This literature review, titled "Work-Life Balance and Life Satisfaction and Their Impact on Organizational Success," addresses a highly pertinent topic in contemporary organizational studies. The authors explore the multifaceted relationship between work-life balance (WLB), employee satisfaction, and organizational success, primarily drawing insights from existing research. The abstract effectively summarizes the paper's core findings, indicating a substantial positive influence of WLB on employee satisfaction and, subsequently, on organizational success. Furthermore, it highlights the mediating role of employee satisfaction in this crucial relationship, offering a valuable conceptual pathway. This timely review underscores the critical importance for organizations to adopt supportive WLB policies to enhance both individual well-being and corporate performance. The primary strength of this paper lies in its exploration of a highly relevant and impactful subject, providing a synthesis of current research that can guide practitioners. The identification of employee satisfaction as a mediator between work-life balance and organizational success offers a significant theoretical contribution, helping to elucidate the mechanisms at play. However, the abstract could benefit from greater clarity regarding the scope and methodology of the literature review itself. While it states it is a "studi literatur," details such as the search strategy, databases consulted, and inclusion/exclusion criteria for the reviewed studies are absent, which makes it challenging to assess the comprehensiveness and rigor of the review. Additionally, there is a minor inconsistency in the terminology used; the title refers to "Kepuasan Hidup" (Life Satisfaction), while the abstract's results predominantly discuss "kepuasan kerja" (job satisfaction), which are distinct constructs in organizational psychology and management. Clarifying this distinction or aligning the terminology throughout would enhance precision. In conclusion, this paper provides a valuable foundational overview of the work-life balance construct and its positive ramifications for both employees and organizations. Its emphasis on the practical implications for companies to implement supportive strategies is well-placed and highly actionable. While the abstract lays out a compelling case for the direct and mediated impacts of WLB, future research could build upon this by exploring specific contextual factors (e.g., industry, culture, job roles) that moderate these relationships. Furthermore, the paper itself suggests further exploration of factors influencing WLB and its impact on overall employee happiness, which could be expanded to include empirical studies investigating the effectiveness of specific WLB initiatives in diverse organizational settings. Overall, this literature review serves as a solid point of departure for understanding and addressing the critical intersection of work, life, and organizational outcomes.
