Abstract

Dear Authors, Only original work that has not been previously published or is under review elsewhere may be submitted. The Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning (J-HyTEL), published by Sagamedia Teknologi Nusantara, does not allow manuscripts under review in another journal or conference proceeding to be simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Simultaneous submissions can lead to copyright issues, resource waste, and citation confusion. Multiple publications dilute value for members and libraries and cause indexing problems. Therefore, simultaneous submissions must be avoided. Authors who fail to disclose prior submissions or improperly cite previous work may face disciplinary actions, including: A reminder of unethical scholarly practice A requirement to apologize to the editors, and/or A one-year suspension from publication in J-HyTEL. Thank you for your cooperation. Best Regards,International Editorial BoardJournal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning (J-HyTEL)Publisher: Sagamedia Teknologi Nusantara

Review

This "submission" from the Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning (J-HyTEL) is not a research paper but rather an important editorial announcement concerning publication ethics. Its primary purpose is to explicitly state and reinforce the journal's strict policies against multiple submissions and the requirement for original work that has not been previously published or is concurrently under review elsewhere. Such communications are vital for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and ensuring that all contributors adhere to established ethical standards in academic publishing. The announcement is commendable for its clarity and directness. It effectively articulates the critical reasons behind these policies, citing potential negative consequences such as copyright issues, resource waste, citation confusion, the dilution of value for readers and libraries, and indexing problems. Furthermore, the editorial board is transparent about the disciplinary actions authors may face for non-compliance, which range from a reminder and an apology requirement to a one-year suspension from publication in J-HyTEL. This clear delineation of expectations and consequences is crucial for guiding author behavior and upholding the journal's standards. Overall, this communication serves as an essential and timely reminder to the author community associated with J-HyTEL regarding fundamental ethical practices. While not a peer-reviewed research article, its content is of paramount importance for the operational integrity and reputation of the journal. The International Editorial Board's proactive approach in reiterating these guidelines is highly commendable, reinforcing a commitment to ethical scholarship and ensuring a robust and trustworthy publication environment for all stakeholders.
