Empowerment of tourism awareness groups in realizing timpik tourism village. Empowering Timpik Village's Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) through community service to develop its tourism potential, manage attractions, market products, and preserve local wisdom.
The development of tourism areas is an option that is expected to strengthen both economic potential and conservation efforts. The development of tourism areas is carried out through an integrated transformation of various natural and biological opportunities and assets. All of this requires the ability of the human resources in it. Therefore, this community service program is very much needed to optimize the Timpik Village Pokadarwis in increasing its potential as a tourist village area. Timpik Village is the largest village in Susukan District with beautiful natural panoramas of rice fields and hills with fertile soil types. In addition to potential natural resources, there are also human resources who have a high spirit to advance their village. The various cultures and arts that already exist add their own local wisdom value with the formation of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). However, behind all that, Pokdarwis has not been able to develop the existing tourism potential. Therefore, various mentoring actions are needed in creating a profile of the arts and culture owned by Timpik Village as local wisdom, optimizing the management of village social media, optimizing the use of tourist attractions, and developing the results and marketing of Timpik Village UMKM products.
The title and abstract present a compelling community service program focused on empowering the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in Timpik Village to realize its potential as a tourist destination. The premise is sound, recognizing tourism development as a viable strategy for economic growth and conservation, necessitating robust human resource capabilities. The program clearly aims to address a perceived gap where, despite abundant natural and cultural assets and enthusiastic human resources, the local Pokdarwis has not yet fully leveraged these opportunities. This initiative appears well-timed to support the integrated transformation of local assets towards sustainable tourism. A key strength of this work, as described, lies in its practical and multi-faceted approach to community empowerment. The abstract effectively identifies both the existing potentials – such as the beautiful natural panoramas, fertile land, rich cultural heritage, and the high spirit of the local community – and the specific challenges faced by the Pokdarwis in developing these. The proposed mentoring actions are comprehensive, targeting crucial areas: documenting local arts and culture as local wisdom, optimizing social media presence, enhancing the utilization of existing attractions, and developing marketing strategies for local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) products. This holistic intervention strategy suggests a well-thought-out program designed to provide practical tools and knowledge to the community. While the abstract clearly outlines the problem and the proposed interventions, a complete understanding of the program's impact and efficacy would benefit from further detail in the full paper. Specifically, the abstract, as a descriptor of a community service program, could be strengthened by elaborating on the specific methodologies employed for mentoring, the duration and phases of the intervention, and crucially, the metrics used to measure the "empowerment" of the Pokdarwis and the initial outcomes or achievements of these actions. Information regarding baseline conditions, challenges encountered during implementation, and preliminary results or lessons learned would significantly enhance the academic contribution and practical utility of this valuable community-based initiative.
