This article effectively addresses a critical and often under-explored aspect of dementia care: the intricate interplay between providing care for individuals with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and the emotional landscape experienced by their family caregivers. Drawing upon research conducted between 2018 and 2022, the study employs a qualitative approach, interviewing health professionals and seventeen family caregivers. A specific and commendable focus is placed on interviews with daughters caring for their parents with AD, enabling a deep dive into the meanings of care, responsibilities, and the intersection of public and private spheres. The abstract promises valuable reflections on the primary role of family care in elder attention and the significant emotional impacts, particularly for working daughters navigating role inversion. A key strength of this work lies in its specific methodological focus on daughters who are often still in the workforce, thereby shedding light on a demographic experiencing unique and multifaceted emotional tensions. The exploration of "retóricas em torno dos sentimentos" (rhetorics surrounding feelings) suggests a nuanced analysis of how emotions are expressed, understood, and managed within these challenging care relationships. By addressing the concepts of responsibility and obligation within both public and private domains, the article positions itself to offer important insights into the societal context of dementia care, moving beyond individual experiences to touch upon broader structural issues and the burdens placed on families. While the abstract outlines a compelling study, the review would benefit from a more explicit mention of the theoretical or analytical frameworks guiding the interpretation of these complex emotional dynamics and role inversions. Expanding on how the "retóricas" of feelings are analyzed—whether through discourse analysis, narrative analysis, or other qualitative methods—would strengthen the methodological rigor presented. Furthermore, while the focused scope on daughters is a strength, the abstract could briefly hint at the broader implications for other caregiver groups or for the development of targeted support interventions, grounding the research findings in potential practical applications for policy or clinical practice. Overall, this article appears to offer a timely and relevant contribution to the literature on AD care and family dynamics.
