Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role played by political parties in providing political education to generation Z (Gen Z), which is the younger generation born between 1996 and 2012. Political education has an important role in forming a comprehensive and critical understanding of political processes. , democracy, and the rights and obligations of citizens. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The results of the study show that the role of political parties in providing political education can be done by building political participation, encouraging critical thinking, mobilizing active participation, providing space for discussion, and building political awareness. The strategies for realizing this role include utilizing digital technology, building online communities, holding educational events, collaborating with youth communities, providing space for representatives of generation Z, and using issue-based campaigns.

Review

This study addresses a highly pertinent and timely topic: the role of political parties in delivering political education to Generation Z. Given the increasing political disengagement observed in many democracies and the unique digital native characteristics of Gen Z, understanding how established political actors engage this demographic is crucial. The abstract clearly outlines the study's aim to analyze this role and adopts a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, which appears suitable for exploring complex social phenomena. The identified roles of political parties, such as building participation, encouraging critical thinking, and mobilizing active involvement, along with the proposed digital-first strategies, offer valuable initial insights into potential pathways for engagement. While the abstract presents a compelling overview of the study's scope and preliminary findings, it would benefit from greater specificity regarding its methodological execution. The mention of a "qualitative research method with a descriptive approach" is a good start, but the abstract lacks details on *how* data was collected (e.g., interviews, focus groups, content analysis) and *from whom* (which political parties, what types of Gen Z individuals, in what specific geographical or political context). Without these specifics, the listed "results" – such as building political participation or utilizing digital technology – appear more as conceptual frameworks or normative suggestions rather than empirically derived findings from the study itself. A clearer indication of the data sources and analytical framework employed would significantly strengthen the abstract's ability to convey the rigor and empirical basis of the research. For the full paper to maximize its impact, it would be essential to elaborate extensively on the methodology, providing a detailed account of the research design, participant selection, data collection instruments, and analytical procedures. This would enable readers to assess the validity and generalizability of the findings. Furthermore, delving deeper into specific examples or case studies of how political parties are *actually* implementing these strategies and the observed impact on Gen Z would add considerable empirical weight. If these methodological and empirical gaps are adequately addressed in the full manuscript, this research has the potential to offer significant practical recommendations for political parties and policymakers alike, guiding more effective political education initiatives for future generations.
