Abstract

The results of the analysis obtained for age (X1) on the teaching quality of economics teachers (Y) obtained tcount > ttable, indicating that there is an influence of age on the teaching quality of economics teachers. The results of the analysis obtained for the effect of tenure (X2) on work quality (Y) obtained tcount > ttable, indicating that there is an influence of tenure on the quality of teaching economics teachers. In the calculation of multiple linear regression, constant values are obtained, the regression coefficient for age (X1) s and the regression coefficient for years of service (X2) are equal to. To test the hypothesis of age and years of service simultaneously using the f test with a significance level of 95%, the value of Fcount > Ftable is obtained, indicating that there is a simultaneous significant effect of age and years of service on the quality of teaching economics teachers.

Review

The submitted paper, "The Effect of Age And Work Period On Teaching Quality Of Economics Teachers At SMK N 1 Nainggolan Samosir T.P 2015/2016," aims to investigate the influence of age and years of service (referred to as 'work period' or 'tenure') on the teaching quality of economics teachers at a specific vocational high school in Indonesia during the 2015/2016 academic year. This topic is certainly relevant within the field of education, as understanding the factors that contribute to teacher quality is crucial for professional development, policy-making, and ultimately, student outcomes. The localized context provides a focused area of study, which can yield specific insights for the institution in question, assuming the research is conducted with appropriate rigor. Based solely on the provided abstract, the study appears to employ a quantitative research design utilizing multiple linear regression analysis, alongside individual t-tests and a simultaneous F-test, to assess the relationships between the variables. The abstract reports statistically significant findings, indicating that both age and tenure individually, as well as jointly, have a significant influence on the teaching quality of economics teachers. This suggests that the researchers have identified statistical relationships consistent with their hypotheses. However, a significant limitation is the abstract's extreme brevity and lack of specific quantitative details regarding the actual values of t-statistics, F-statistics, regression coefficients, or even the direction (positive or negative) of these relationships, which are essential for a thorough evaluation of the findings' magnitude and practical significance. The primary weakness of this submission, as evidenced by the abstract, is the profound absence of critical methodological and results-oriented information. A comprehensive abstract should typically include details about the sample size, research design, measurement instruments, specific statistical values (e.g., R-squared, beta coefficients, p-values), and a summary of the main conclusions or implications. The current abstract merely states that "tcount > ttable" and "Fcount > Ftable" and that regression coefficients "are equal to" without providing any numbers, making it impossible to assess the strength or robustness of the reported effects. Furthermore, an inconsistency arises with the mention of "work quality (Y)" in one sentence while the title and other parts consistently refer to "teaching quality (Y)." For this paper to meet scholarly standards for publication, a major revision is required to provide a detailed methodology, present specific quantitative results, elaborate on the direction and strength of the observed effects, and discuss the theoretical and practical implications of these findings.
