The paper titled "Edukasi pemberian makanan pendamping ASI melalui Whatsapp group saat pandemi COVID-19 bagi kader Posyandu Kecamatan Pasawahan, Purwakarta" addresses a highly relevant topic concerning maternal and child health. The study focuses on the critical issue of complementary feeding (MPASI) and its role in the 1000 First Days of Life (1000 HPK), a fundamental period for child development. The initiative to utilize WhatsApp groups for educating Posyandu cadres during the COVID-19 pandemic is commendable, demonstrating an adaptive approach to health promotion amidst unprecedented challenges. The engagement of 124 cadres from Kecamatan Pasawahan highlights a significant reach, and the reported 100% positive response to the material suggests the content was well-received by the target audience, indicating a successful initial engagement phase. While the abstract clearly outlines a timely and necessary intervention, the methodological detail concerning evaluation presents a key limitation. The abstract mentions that evaluation was conducted at the end of the Kulwap by providing a form related to the material. This method primarily gauges participants' immediate satisfaction or reception of the content rather than a demonstrable change in knowledge, attitudes, or intended practices regarding MPASI. To robustly assess the impact of such an educational intervention, a pre- and post-test design for knowledge assessment would be highly beneficial. Furthermore, the abstract lacks information on the specific content covered, the duration of the Kulwap, or any follow-up plans to ascertain whether the cadres effectively disseminated this information or altered their own counseling practices within their communities. Despite the identified methodological limitations in evaluation, this community service activity represents a valuable step in leveraging digital platforms for health education. The positive reception of the WAG-based education indicates its potential as an alternative or supplementary method for delivering crucial health information, especially to frontline health workers like Posyandu cadres. Future interventions building on this work could benefit from incorporating more rigorous evaluation metrics, exploring the long-term impact on cadre knowledge retention and application, and assessing the subsequent influence on community MPASI practices. This study lays important groundwork for further research into the efficacy and sustainability of remote educational programs for public health in Indonesia.
