Strengthening cyber resilience through iobt best practices: future applications. Strengthen national security & military success with IoBT cyber resilience. This research identifies best practices for securing Internet of Battlefield Things and explores future applications.
In today's digital era, Internet of Battlefield Things (IoBT) security has become particularly important in ensuring the success of military operations and national security. Through systematic literature observations reviewing publications from 2015 to 2024, this research aims to identify and implement best practices for securing IoBT in state protection, explore potential study topics for future development, and suggest significant IoBT security research topics for researchers. The research results show that developing strong security standards, implementing effective cybersecurity, increasing security awareness, and training, and developing a curriculum are critical to securing IoBT. Additionally, this research also identifies research opportunities that can help implement effective IoBT security strategies and inspire the development of various training curricula. These recommendations will help implement the best IoBT security practices to enhance national security and inspire academic innovation.
The paper, "Strengthening Cyber Resilience through IoBT Best Practices: Future Applications," addresses a highly relevant and critical area concerning national security in the digital age. The abstract clearly articulates the importance of Internet of Battlefield Things (IoBT) security for military operations and state protection. Employing a systematic literature review spanning 2015 to 2024, the research aims to identify best practices for IoBT security, explore future study topics, and suggest significant research directions, providing a valuable overview of the current landscape and future needs in this rapidly evolving domain. A key strength of this work lies in its systematic approach to distilling actionable insights from existing literature. The identified core pillars for strengthening IoBT security—developing robust security standards, implementing effective cybersecurity measures, enhancing security awareness and training, and developing a comprehensive curriculum—are well-defined and appear foundational. These findings directly support the stated objective of improving state protection and national security. Furthermore, the paper's contribution extends to identifying specific research opportunities, which is crucial for fostering academic innovation and guiding future endeavors in this specialized field. The emphasis on both practical implementation and academic development positions this research as a comprehensive contribution. While the abstract effectively outlines the paper's scope and findings, it would be beneficial if the full paper provided more specific examples or deeper analysis of the challenges encountered in implementing these best practices in real-world IoBT environments. For instance, what particular cybersecurity measures are most effective, or what specific elements should a training curriculum prioritize given the unique operational context of IoBT? Nonetheless, this paper presents a robust framework and valuable recommendations that are highly relevant for both practitioners and researchers committed to enhancing cyber resilience in battlefield contexts, offering a strong foundation for future practical applications and academic exploration.
