This paper addresses a highly pertinent and critical area within sustainable tourism development: the institutional strategies for fostering traditional village tourism. Focusing on Kampung Wisata Adat Cirendeu, a designated local cultural tourism site in Cimahi, the research aptly aims to delineate effective institutional development strategies. The abstract clearly establishes the significance of robust management bodies for human resource development in community-based tourism, positioning the study as a valuable contribution to understanding how local cultural heritage can be sustainably leveraged for economic and social benefit while preserving traditional values. The timely nature of this research is particularly relevant in contexts where local communities are increasingly taking charge of their tourism initiatives. The methodology employed, utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach complemented by SWOT analysis, appears well-suited to the research objective. Data collection through snowball sampling from a diverse set of informants, including six local community members and three representatives from relevant government agencies, suggests a comprehensive ground-up and top-down perspective on the issues. The study successfully identifies five priority strategies derived from the Strengths and Opportunities (S-O) quadrant of the SWOT analysis. These strategies are notably practical and actionable, ranging from enhancing cultural arts training (angklung buncis, karinding, kecapi suling) and guiding skills for POKDARWIS members, to fostering community cooperation for environmental maintenance, encouraging innovation in visitor facilities, and developing diverse tourism packages that integrate culinary experiences and interactive activities. While the abstract provides a clear overview of the research's objectives, methods, and key findings, the full paper would benefit from further elaboration on the theoretical framework underpinning institutional development in traditional tourism. The identified S-O strategies offer concrete pathways for Cirendeu, underscoring the importance of human capital development, community engagement, and strategic innovation. However, the abstract does not specify how these S-O strategies were prioritized over other SWOT quadrants, which could be a point of further detail in the full manuscript. Nevertheless, the research presents valuable, implementable recommendations that could serve as a blueprint not only for Kampung Adat Cirendeu but also potentially for other traditional villages grappling with similar challenges in developing sustainable, institutionally-backed tourism initiatives. The focus on local knowledge transfer and active community participation is a significant strength with broad implications.
