Abstract

L'articolo analizza tre romanzi recenti che affrontano la tematica dell'esilio e dello sradicamento: due di essi hanno origine da un’esperienza di guerra, quella dei Balcani negli anni Novanta, E poi saremo salvi di Alessandra Carati (2021) e Mi limitavo ad amare te di Rossella Postorino (2023); nel terzo, Il treno dei bambini di Viola Ardone (2019), l’esperienza di esilio e di sradicamento è tutta interna all’Italia. Ci concentreremo in particolare sul tema del materno – doppie maternità, diritto alla maternità, rifiuto della maternità, lutto della lingua madre – che nei tre romanzi s’intreccia con il trauma, insieme storico e privato, dell’esilio, e ci chiederemo se il racconto letterario, in questo caso finzionale e non autobiografico, possa configurarsi come uno strumento di cura transculturale, in linea con i recenti contributi critici sulla funzione riparatoria e transitiva della letteratura (A. Gefen).
