Abstract

Poor mental health can reduce employee job satisfaction and increase the risk of burnout. When employees are not feeling well mentally, they are more likely to experience burnout, which can lead to high employee turnover. This activity aims to increase workers' understanding of workplace anxiety and provide effective strategies for managing and overcoming the problem, in order to support better mental health. This activity uses lecture methods, interactive discussions, questions and answers and demonstrations or role plays of deep breathing techniques. The counseling went well and according to plan. Participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the counseling and actively participated in the discussion. After the participants did the technique taught, namely deep breathing relaxation, the participants looked more relaxed. It is hoped that the deep breathing relaxation technique is effective as a distraction from anxiety from the participants who attended.

Review

The submitted work, "Recognizing and Addressing Workplace Anxiety: Strategies for Better Mental Health," addresses an exceptionally pertinent and critical issue in contemporary workplaces. The abstract effectively highlights the detrimental effects of poor mental health on job satisfaction and employee retention, thereby emphasizing the urgent need for interventions in this domain. The proposed activity, aiming to enhance understanding of workplace anxiety and provide coping strategies, utilizes a multi-faceted approach involving lectures, interactive discussions, Q&A sessions, and practical demonstrations of deep breathing techniques, which are well-suited for an educational intervention. However, the abstract presents itself more as a report on a successful training or counseling session rather than a scholarly research paper. While it notes positive participant enthusiasm and active engagement, and observes immediate post-intervention relaxation, these are anecdotal observations rather than empirical findings. Crucially, the abstract lacks the fundamental components expected in a research submission, such as a clear research question, a defined methodology beyond merely describing the activity, details on participant demographics or sample size, systematic data collection procedures, or any form of rigorous data analysis. The statements that "the counseling went well and according to plan" and the *hope* that deep breathing is effective underscore the descriptive nature of the abstract over an evidence-based conclusion. In its current format, this submission is more aligned with an activity report or a practitioner's account than a peer-reviewed research article. To be considered for publication in a research journal, the work would require significant methodological enhancement. This would involve clearly articulating research objectives, establishing a robust study design (e.g., pre- and post-intervention assessments of anxiety levels using validated scales, including control groups where feasible), detailing ethical considerations, outlining participant recruitment, and presenting systematically collected and analyzed quantitative or qualitative data. While the topic's importance is undeniable and the reported participant engagement positive, the abstract, as presented, lacks the empirical rigor necessary for a scholarly research publication.
