Endapan Nikel laterit adalah salah satu sumberdaya alam yang banyak tersebar di Indonesia timur. Nikel merupakan salah satu bahan galian tambang yang digunakan dalam berbagai bidang industri, dimana kebutuhan akan nikel semakin besar seiring meningkatnya penggunaan nikel tersebut dalam pembangunan. Selain itu terdapat pula kendala saat ini dimana semakin berkurangnya sumberdaya nikel yang merupakan sumberdaya alam yang tidak dapat diperbaharui, makadari salah satu cara untuk menyelidiki cadangan nikel yang lebih banyak, diperlukan suatu metode eksplorasi yang lebih akurat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui model penyebaran cadangan bijih nikel dan mengetahui tonase serta volume bijih nikel dengan metode Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) menggunakan program aplikasi surpac 6.5.1. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) adalah suatu cara penaksiran dimana harga rata-rata suatu blok merupakan kombinasi linier atau harga rata-rata berbobot (wieghted average) dari data lubang bor di sekitar blok tersebut. Data Primer terdiri atas data collar, assay, survey, dan geology. Data Sekunder berupa geologi regional PT.Prima Sentosa Alam Lestari dan Cut Off Grade (COG). Dari data 38 titik bor setelah dilakukan perhitungan sumberdaya maka diperoleh hasil Tonase sebesar 473.676 ton dan volume sebesar 338.340 m3 serta kadar rata-rata Nikel 1.87%.

The methodological approach, which employs Inverse Distance Weighting, is a common and appropriate technique for preliminary resource estimation due to its relative simplicity and widespread industry acceptance. The abstract meticulously details the types of data used, encompassing primary drill hole data (collar, assay, survey, geology) and secondary information like regional geology and the applied Cut-Off Grade. Based on data from 38 drill holes, the study provides clear, quantifiable results: a total tonnage of 473,676 tons, a volume of 338,340 m³, and an average nickel grade of 1.87%. These findings directly fulfill the stated objectives of determining resource quantities and average grade. The primary strength of this work lies in its direct application of a standard resource estimation technique to a specific geological setting, yielding tangible and immediately useful reserve figures for operational planning. The clear presentation of both the methodology and the numerical results is commendable. While the IDW method offers a straightforward approach, the abstract could benefit from a brief acknowledgment of its inherent limitations, such as its deterministic nature and lack of uncertainty quantification, which distinguishes it from more advanced geostatistical methods. Nevertheless, the paper offers valuable insight into nickel laterite reserve estimation practices in Indonesia and establishes a foundational resource assessment for the studied location.
