Abstract

Perhesurmiin liittyy taustatekijöitä ja niitä tunnistamalla sekä niihin puuttumalla perhesurmia voidaan ennaltaehkäistä. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on kuvata lasten surmien sekä puolison tai entisen puolison surmien taustatekijöitä. Tavoitteena on tuotetun tiedon avulla auttaa kehittämään perhesurmien ennaltaehkäisyä eri keinoin. Tutkimuksessa analysoitiin 119:n perhesurman tehneiden henkilöiden mielentilatutkimukset vuosilta 2006–2021 induktiivisella sisällönanalyysilla ja taustatekijöitä kuvailtiin määrällisesti. Tutkimuksen mukaan lasten surmien sekä puolison tai entisen puolison surmien taustalla oli lapsuuden ja nuoruuden elämänvaiheeseen, henkilökohtaiseen tilanteeseen, elämäntilanteeseen, parisuhteeseen ja perheeseen liittyviä tekijöitä
