Penguatan sumber daya manusia dengan pendekatan asset based community development (abcd). Program penguatan SDM di Desa Gelam menggunakan pendekatan Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). Tingkatkan potensi anak & remaja, optimalkan aset lokal, dorong partisipasi masyarakat, dan kembangkan talenta.
This community service program was implemented to enhance human resource potential through the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. Gelam Village, located in Tambak District, possesses diverse assets that have not been fully utilized, particularly in relation to the development of youth interests and talents. The lack of adequate facilities and platforms has limited opportunities for children and adolescents to express their creativity and develop their potential. Therefore, this program was designed to provide solutions by leveraging local assets and community strengths. The program was carried out using the ABCD method, which emphasizes the identification, mapping, and optimization of existing community assets. Activities included skill development training, competitions organized in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, and art performances involving active participation from community members. The primary beneficiaries of these activities were children and youth with talents in arts, sports, and other creative skills. The findings indicate that the program was effective in increasing community participation. This was reflected in the large number of participants joining the competitions as well as the enthusiasm of audiences attending the events. Furthermore, the activities successfully identified promising young talents who can be further nurtured to represent the village in higher-level competitions. The program also fostered greater social cohesion and provided a platform for community members to strengthen their identity through cultural and creative expressions. In conclusion, the implementation of the ABCD approach proved to be an effective strategy for community empowerment by strengthening human resources based on local assets and potentials. The outcomes highlight the importance of asset-oriented methods in building sustainable community development initiatives.
The abstract presents a highly relevant and well-structured account of a community service program aimed at enhancing human resource potential through the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The premise, rooted in addressing the underutilization of diverse local assets in Gelam Village to foster youth interests and talents, is particularly commendable. By proactively identifying a lack of adequate facilities for children and adolescents to express creativity, the program strategically employs the ABCD framework to build upon existing community strengths rather than focusing on perceived deficits, setting a positive and empowering tone for intervention. The methodology adopted, emphasizing the identification, mapping, and optimization of existing community assets, is a robust and appropriate choice for the program's objectives. The outlined activities, including skill development training, cultural competitions, and art performances, are directly aligned with engaging the target beneficiaries—children and youth with talents in arts, sports, and creative skills. The reported findings are particularly strong, demonstrating a significant increase in community participation, the successful identification of promising young talents, and the fostering of greater social cohesion. These outcomes effectively underscore the program's success in providing a platform for cultural and creative expression, thereby strengthening community identity. While the abstract provides a compelling overview of the program's successes, a full paper would benefit from elaborating on certain aspects. For instance, quantifying the "large number of participants" or providing specific examples of the "enthusiasm of audiences" could further substantiate the reported impact. Moreover, while the conclusion emphasizes "sustainable community development initiatives," a deeper discussion on the long-term strategies for nurturing the identified young talents and ensuring the sustained operation of these platforms beyond the program's immediate duration would strengthen the sustainability aspect. Despite these potential areas for expansion, the abstract clearly demonstrates an effective and impactful community empowerment initiative, offering valuable insights into the practical application and benefits of the ABCD approach for human resource development.
