Perkembangan keberadaan minimarket ritel modern semakin pesat pada era sekarang. Selain daerah perkotaan, ritel modern juga telah menjangkau daerah pedesaan. Mempertahankan bisnis lokal, tradisional, dan usaha kecil, terutama yang menawarkan produk dan layanan yang sama merupakan tantangan umum. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana implikasi kehadiran minimarket terhadap keberadaan usaha pedagang kelontong dan bagaimana literasi keuangan dapat memperkuat ketahanan usaha kelontong di Kecamatan Tamalate Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Adapun tahapan pengumpulan data yaitu: Metode wawancara,, observasi, dan metode dokumentasi. Digunakan tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dalam menginterpretasikan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kehadiran minimarket memberikan implikasi baik secara positif maupun negatif terhadap keberadaan toko kelontong. Dampak positifnya bahwa pelaku usaha toko kelontong bisa membeli perlengkapan yang tidak tersedia di toko milik mereka di minimarket, serta produk yang sedang diskon di minimarket dapat mereka beli lalu menjual kembali dengan harga normal. Dampak negatifnya yaitu banyak konsumen yang beralih ke minimarket mengakibatkan penurunan omzet penjualan yang cukup berdampak bagi operasional usaha.
