Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, menguji kelayakan dan uji efektivitas Media Bigbook Writing Berbasis Kesenian untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Menulis Karangan Sederhana Muatan Bahasa Indonesia Siswa Kelas III SD. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian R&D model Borg & Gall yang diadaptasi Sugiyono. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III SD Negeri 02 Sampangan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu angket, observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data akhir berupa uji t dan N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Media BigBook Writing berbasis kesenian sesuai analisis kebutuhan siswa dan guru Kelas III SD; 2) Hasil uji kelayakan Media BigBook Writing Berbasis Kesenian dinyatakan sangat layak digunakan; 3) Media BigBook Writing Berbasis Kesenian cukup efektif dalam ketrampilan menulis peserta didik kelas 3 SD dengan hasil Uji N-Gain Score 0,30 ≤ N-Gain (0.5137 & 0.5545) ≤ 0,70 kriteria “sedang” dan hasil Uji parsial sampel t-Test dengan nilai Signifikansi 0.000 < 0.05.

Overall, this research makes a valuable contribution to the field of elementary education by developing and validating an art-based Bigbook writing medium. The clear development process, rigorous feasibility testing, and evidence of effectiveness underscore its potential as a pedagogical tool. The study's implications for improving students' simple essay writing skills in Indonesian are significant, offering a creative and engaging approach for educators. Future research could further explore the specific artistic elements that contribute most to its effectiveness, or investigate its applicability and long-term impact across different grade levels or cultural contexts.
