This paper addresses a highly relevant topic concerning the factors influencing students' interest in pursuing postgraduate studies, specifically focusing on parental support and learning motivation among Economic Education students at Jambi University. The abstract clearly establishes the empirical motivation for the study, citing an observed discrepancy in interest levels within the 2020 cohort. The research aims to quantify the impact of these two independent variables on the dependent variable of interest in continuing to Strata Dua (Master's level) education. The central finding, that both parental support and learning motivation significantly and positively influence students' interest in pursuing further studies, is a valuable contribution to understanding student educational pathways. The methodology is described as "kuantitatif deskriptif," yet the abstract presents strong inferential statistical results from regression analysis, including t-statistics, F-statistic, and p-values (all at 0.000), indicating highly significant relationships. This suggests a more robust analytical approach than merely descriptive statistics. While the findings of positive partial and simultaneous influences are clearly stated and statistically supported, a critical omission in the abstract is the sample size for the regression analysis, which combined students from the 2020 and 2021 cohorts. Without this crucial information, it is challenging to fully assess the power and generalizability of the reported statistical significance. Additionally, a clearer explanation of how the initial observation on the 2020 cohort relates to the broader sample used for the quantitative analysis would enhance clarity. Despite the brevity of the abstract, the identified significant influences of parental support and learning motivation carry important implications for educational institutions, parents, and students. Universities can utilize these findings to develop targeted interventions or support programs that nurture student motivation and involve parents in encouraging postgraduate aspirations. For future development, the full paper should explicitly detail the sample size, sampling strategy, and perhaps elaborate on the specific instruments used to measure these variables. Further research could explore the mechanisms through which these factors operate, potential mediating variables, or compare findings across different disciplines or institutions to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the dynamics influencing postgraduate study decisions.
