Monitoring spasio-temporal penutup hutan di kota bandar lampung menggunakan model forest canopy density (fcd). Pantau perubahan spasio-temporal penutup hutan di Bandar Lampung pakai model FCD dan citra Landsat 2013-2023. Mengungkap penurunan 15,45 Ha penutup hutan akibat deforestasi.
This paper addresses a highly pertinent and critical issue concerning forest cover change, specifically within an urban context in Southeast Asia. The monitoring of spatio-temporal forest dynamics in Bandar Lampung using the Forest Canopy Density (FCD) model with Landsat imagery from 2013 and 2023 is a commendable effort given the global trend of deforestation. The abstract clearly states the objective and highlights the significant contribution of forests to regional development, underscoring the necessity for such information, particularly in light of substantial global forest loss since 1990. The chosen methodology, involving multiple vegetation indices (AVI, BI, SI, SWA/TI), offers a robust approach to assessing canopy density changes. The strength of this research lies in its clear focus on a specific urban area over a decadal period, providing valuable insights into localized environmental changes. The application of the FCD model, incorporating various spectral indices, is a well-established and effective technique for quantifying forest canopy density, making the methodology theoretically sound for detecting nuanced changes. The finding of a 15.45 Ha decrease in forest cover in Bandar Lampung is a direct and impactful result, immediately signaling a concern for urban green infrastructure and ecological stability. This quantitative assessment provides essential baseline data for local environmental management and policy-making. While the research provides a valuable contribution, the abstract, as presented, leaves several methodological and contextual details underspecified, which would be crucial for a comprehensive understanding of the full paper. For instance, clarifying the specific components of "SWA/TI" and the precise process of FCD calculation from these indices would enhance transparency. Furthermore, while the abstract attributes the forest loss to "deforestation," a deeper analysis of the *drivers* behind this deforestation in Bandar Lampung (e.g., urban expansion, infrastructure development, agricultural conversion) would significantly strengthen the study's policy relevance. Future iterations or the full manuscript would benefit from elaborating on the percentage of total forest cover lost, the ecological implications of this specific decline, and potential recommendations for sustainable urban planning based on these findings.
