This paper, titled "MITOS ATAU FAKTA LARANGAN MEMBAWA PAYUNG KE SAWAH DI GAMPONG DAYAH BLUEK KECAMATAN MEURAH MULIA KABUPATEN ACEH UTARA?", addresses a fascinating intersection of local folklore, agricultural practices, and community belief systems. The research aims to comprehensively understand the myth prohibiting the carrying of umbrellas into rice fields in Gampong Dayah Bluek. Employing a qualitative research approach, the study is designed to gather rich, descriptive data through interviews, observation, and documentation, providing a robust methodological foundation for exploring the intricacies of this cultural phenomenon. The findings presented in the abstract are compelling, revealing that the prohibition is an ancient tradition, deeply rooted and diligently transmitted across generations. The study effectively articulates the severe perceived negative consequences associated with violating this taboo, which include diminished harvests, the emergence of 'red disease' in the rice, and increased pest infestations from rats. Crucially, these impacts are not limited to the individual transgressor but are believed to affect all rice fields in the area, underscoring a powerful notion of collective responsibility and shared fate within the community. The identification of moral values such as mutual respect and concern for others' well-being as inherent in this prohibition adds a significant layer of depth to the analysis. Overall, this research offers a valuable contribution to the understanding of traditional knowledge systems and their influence on daily life in rural Indonesian communities. Its strength lies in meticulously documenting a specific, intriguing local belief and detailing its perceived ramifications on agricultural outcomes and social cohesion. While the abstract provides a clear overview of the myth's existence and impact, further work could potentially explore the historical or ecological origins that might have initially given rise to such a belief, offering even deeper socio-anthropological insights. Despite the noted future timeline for the research period (February-April 2025) which is presumed to be a minor typographical error, the paper provides a significant and insightful exploration into local cultural norms.
