Abstract

Review

This paper, "Menciptakan Equilibrium: Harmonisasi Kekuasaan Konstruktif Vs Otoritarianisme Politik dalam Etika Kristen," tackles a highly relevant and pressing issue concerning the dynamic interplay between constructive power and political authoritarianism within the Indonesian context. The abstract effectively highlights the significant societal concerns arising from unchecked power, making the research exceptionally timely and pertinent to contemporary political discourse and governance challenges in the region. By clearly stating its aim to examine the root causes and impacts of power abuse, the study positions itself as a valuable contribution towards understanding a pervasive problem that undermines public trust and perpetuates injustice. The explicit intention to integrate Christian ethics into this discussion also introduces a unique and potentially insightful normative lens through which to analyze and propose solutions for complex political dilemmas. Methodologically, the study employs a qualitative approach, analyzing various literary sources to understand the negative ramifications of uncontrolled power, such as corruption, collusion, and weak law enforcement. The findings reveal a strong correlation between power abuse, social injustice, and the erosion of public trust in governmental institutions, which are well-established issues in the field of political science and public administration. While the abstract clearly outlines these observed negative impacts, a deeper elaboration in the full paper on how the *literature analysis* specifically bridges the understanding of these political maladies with the *application of Christian ethics* would significantly strengthen the methodological connection. It would be beneficial to detail how the review not only identifies problems but also systematically explores or proposes ethical frameworks, beyond just the general recommendation, to demonstrate the pathway from analysis to the proposed ethical intervention. Furthermore, clarifying how 'constructive power' is conceptualized and analyzed within the literature review, distinct from the predominant focus on power abuse, would enhance the paper's analytical scope. The research concludes by recommending policy reformulation and the practical implementation of Christian ethics within political practices. This recommendation offers a fresh perspective, suggesting that principled ethical frameworks can effectively guide power towards serving society justly, fostering a conducive environment for sustainable development. The potential for this study to provide new insights for policymakers in tackling authoritarianism and power abuse in Indonesia is significant. While the abstract lays a strong theoretical groundwork, future research could explore empirical case studies or delve into specific mechanisms through which Christian ethical principles can be translated into concrete policy actions and institutional reforms, perhaps through comparative analysis with other ethical frameworks. Overall, this paper makes a pertinent contribution to the ongoing dialogue on good governance and ethical leadership, particularly within the Indonesian context, and offers a compelling argument for the integral role of values in political life.
