The article, titled "Marguerite Duras – “A solidão não se encontra, se faz”," proposes an insightful exploration of Marguerite Duras's writing, positioning it as deeply intertwined with her lived experiences, particularly the traumatic childhood in Saigon and her complex relationship with her mother. The abstract clearly outlines an ambitious interdisciplinary project, aiming to reflect on Duras's oeuvre through the lens of psychoanalysis. By focusing on themes such as solitude, the feminine, and maternal relationships, the study promises to offer a rich interpretation of her works, with a particular emphasis on the autobiographical *O Amante* (The Lover), which serves as a central text for analysis. The chosen framework, incorporating Freudian, Lacanian, and other psychoanalytic perspectives, appears well-suited to unpack the nuances of Duras's internal struggles and their textual manifestation. The concept of "estrangement as an effect of the gaze" is particularly compelling and suggests a sophisticated engagement with psychoanalytic theory in relation to literary analysis, potentially revealing new insights into Duras's narrative strategies and character development. However, while the abstract lists the theoretical inspirations, a more explicit indication of the specific *methodology* of applying these concepts to the literary texts would strengthen its presentation. A minor but important observation is the discrepancy between the Portuguese and English keywords, with the latter listing philosophical terms seemingly unrelated to the article's core subject, which should be corrected for indexing accuracy. In conclusion, this article presents a highly promising contribution to Duras studies and psychoanalytic literary criticism. The central thesis, that writing served as a crucial mechanism for Duras to separate herself from "maternal devastation" and emerge as a celebrated literary figure, offers a compelling narrative of creativity as a form of self-preservation and transformation. Such an exploration not only deepens our understanding of Duras's enduring legacy but also highlights the broader significance of literature in processing trauma and shaping identity. Provided the full manuscript delivers on the depth of theoretical engagement and textual analysis implied by the abstract, this work would undoubtedly be a valuable addition to the scholarly conversation.
