Abstract

Cet article analyse les procédures poétiques du déplacement métonymique et de la condensation métaphorique dans l’utilisation que fait Marguerite Duras du mot « mer ». À travers les figures de style de la paronomase – l’assimilation de la mer à la mère – et de l’antonomase – le personnage de « l’homme atlantique » ‒, Marguerite Duras évoque de façon détournée ce qui fonde son imaginaire : le lien fécond entre les années d’enfance en Indochine et le surgissement de l’écriture.
