Abstract

Mit dem Thema „Kunstgeschichte und Zeitgenossenschaft“ greift die vorliegende Online-Publikation die mit der Tagung „Zeitgenossenschaft. Richard Hoppe-Sailer zum 60. Geburtstag“ (8./9. Juni 2012, Ruhr-Universität Bochum) angestoßene Diskussion und Erprobung eines alternativen Konzeptes von Zeitgenossenschaft für die Kunstgeschichte auf.Zeitgenossenschaft wird daran anschließend nicht mehr als Zustand aufgefasst, sondern als Tätigkeit: Es geht um die Zeitenvermittlung im Horizont der eigenen Gegenwart, gleichsam um den bewussten Blick durch die Brille der Zeitgenossenschaft. Damit sind Grundfragen der Kunstgeschichte berührt, die in disziplinärer wie interdisziplinärer Perspektive erörtert werden.Die hier versammelten Beiträge sind an die Vorträge der Tagung von 2012 anknüpfende oder im Zusammenhang mit der genannten Fragestellung weiterentwickelte Gedanken und Überlegungen, die anlässlich der Verabschiedung von Prof. Dr. Richard Hoppe-Sailer am 12. Juli 2017 publiziert werden. Die Vielfalt der Überlegungen spiegelt die Aktualität der Fragestellung und lädt ein, die Diskussion über diese Publikation hinaus weiterzuführen.
