Introduction

Kasvun tuessa arvioitujen menetelmien teoriaperustaisuus. Tutkimus tarkastelee psykososiaalisten menetelmien teoriaperustaisuutta lasten ja nuorten tuessa Suomessa. Korostaa selkeän teoriataustan merkitystä vaikuttavuudelle.

Abstract

Teoriaperustaisuus on keskeinen tekijä psykososiaalisten menetelmien vaikuttavuudessa, sillä se luo pohjan sille, miten ja miksi menetelmän tavoittelema muutos tapahtuu. Kasvun tuessa arvioitujen lasten, nuorten ja perheiden psykososiaalisten menetelmien taustalla havaittiin olevan useita ihmistieteisiin liittyviä teorioita, teoreettisia malleja ja viitekehyksiä. Yleisimmät teoriat menetelmien taustalla olivat sosiaalisen oppimisen teoria, kiintymyssuhdeteoria sekä kognitiiviset ja kognitiivisen käyttäytymisterapian teoreettiset viitekehykset. Suomessa käytössä olevien psykososiaalisten menetelmien teoriaperustaisuudessa ja teoriataustan kuvauksen syvyydessä havaittiin laadullisessa tarkastelussa merkittäviä eroavaisuuksia. Osassa menetelmistä oli yksityiskohtainen teoriakuvaus, ja osassa teoriataustaa ei eritelty selkeästi. Menetelmän teoreettinen tausta olisi hyvä esitellä ja perustella menetelmäkuvauksissa selkeästi. Jatkotutkimuksissa tulisi tarkastella, miten teoriaperusta toimii menetelmän taustalla, miten se linkittyy ydinelementteihin ja muutoksen mekanismeihin sekä miten se vaikuttaa menetelmän tuloksellisuuteen.

This focus on practical implications underscores the immediate utility of the findings for enhancing the rigor and transparency of psychosocial interventions. While the abstract points to a qualitative review within a specific national context, the implications extend beyond Finland. The recommendation for clearer articulation of theoretical foundations is universally applicable to the development and implementation of evidence-based interventions. Furthermore, the suggested avenues for future research—investigating how theoretical bases function within methods, their linkage to core elements and mechanisms of change, and their impact on outcomes—are crucial for advancing the scientific understanding and efficacy of psychosocial support. This paper thus serves as an important call to action for researchers and practitioners alike, advocating for a more deliberate and explicit integration of theory into intervention design and evaluation.
