O artigo discute alguns dos resultados da pesquisa empírica sobre as repercussões do trabalho na trajetória de vida de jovens egressos da Cruz Vermelha Brasileira, em parceria com a Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, por meio da metodologia de pesquisa com narrativas. A partir do diálogo com autores/as do campo da Sociologia da juventude, do Trabalho e Educação, no caminho teórico-metodológico foi destacado as experiências singulares e como o indivíduo atribuiu sentido a sua trajetória. A pesquisa com narrativas também foi um pilar representativo, sobretudo, por valorizar o relato como um meio de investigação e como forma de produção de conhecimento. Evidenciamos que a categoria “Juventudes” é diversa, bem como os sujeitos que a compõem. Traz elementos que nos permitem refletir sobre o lugar que o trabalho ocupa na formação dos jovens pobres, o que pode ter repercutido em diferentes trajetórias de vida desses jovens.
This article, "Juventude trabalhadora," presents findings from an empirical study investigating the repercussions of work on the life trajectories of young individuals. Specifically, it focuses on youth who have emerged from programs at the Brazilian Red Cross, conducted in collaboration with the Federal University of Minas Gerais. The research employs a narrative methodology, valuing individual accounts as a primary means of investigation and knowledge production. Theoretically, the study engages with authors from the Sociology of Youth, Work, and Education, emphasizing singular experiences and the meanings individuals attribute to their life paths. A significant strength of this work lies in its chosen theoretical-methodological approach, particularly the use of narrative research. This method is crucial for capturing the unique and multifaceted ways in which work shapes young people's lives, allowing for a deep understanding of their subjective experiences and sense-making processes. The article successfully highlights the diversity inherent within the category of "Juventudes," moving beyond a monolithic understanding of youth. By exploring the specific context of disadvantaged youth, the research offers valuable insights into the profound role work plays in their development and how this contributes to varied life trajectories. The findings contribute meaningfully to discussions within the fields of youth studies, sociology of work, and education, particularly concerning vulnerable populations in Brazil. By illuminating the distinct paths forged by poor youth in relation to their work experiences, the article provides a robust foundation for further reflection on social policies, educational interventions, and support programs designed to better serve this demographic. This study is commendable for its rigorous approach to understanding complex social realities through the lived experiences of its participants, making it a valuable addition to the scholarly literature.
