This paper, titled "INOVASI PAKAN TERNAK: PELATIHAN PRAKTIS PEMBUATAN SILASE YANG EFEKTIF," presents a valuable community service initiative aimed at empowering livestock farmers to overcome feed scarcity, particularly during the dry season. The abstract effectively outlines a practical training program focused on silage production as a sustainable and nutritious alternative feed. The objective of enhancing farmers' understanding and skills in producing effective and efficient silage is clearly stated, with a well-structured methodology involving theoretical instruction, hands-on practice, and evaluation. Overall, the abstract conveys a positive and impactful intervention that directly addresses a critical challenge faced by local agricultural communities. The strengths of this work lie in its direct practical application and demonstrated success. The reported results, with 95% of participants understanding the silage-making process and 70% beginning to apply it, indicate a high level of immediate knowledge transfer and initial adoption. Furthermore, the emphasis on utilizing agricultural waste as a raw material for silage production presents a compelling dual benefit: reducing feed costs for farmers and promoting environmental sustainability through waste management. This aligns well with principles of a circular economy and showcases a holistic approach to agricultural development. The intervention successfully enhances the capacity of local farmers, offering an economical and reliable solution to feed challenges. While the abstract clearly demonstrates the immediate success of the training, a more detailed journal article would benefit from elaborating on certain aspects to fully capture the "effectiveness" mentioned in the title. For instance, specific details regarding the types of agricultural waste utilized, their nutritional composition, and the specific silage formulations taught would enhance the technical depth. Additionally, while initial application is promising, insights into the long-term adoption rates, potential challenges faced by farmers in sustained implementation, and the quantitative impact of silage feeding on livestock productivity (e.g., growth rates, milk yield, animal health) would significantly strengthen the findings and provide a more comprehensive picture of the economic and practical benefits. Future reporting could also consider exploring the scalability of this model to other regions.
