This paper addresses the critical topic of maternal nutrition during lactation and the pervasive myths surrounding breastfeeding practices. The abstract effectively highlights the significant nutritional demands on breastfeeding mothers, emphasizing how their dietary intake directly impacts the quality and quantity of breast milk. It identifies a crucial societal challenge: the widespread prevalence of unscientific myths and beliefs related to breastfeeding, which often hinder optimal nutritional practices. The study’s objective to provide education on this vital subject is highly relevant and timely given its direct impact on maternal and infant health outcomes. The methodology employed is a community service initiative focused on educating breastfeeding mothers about their nutritional needs and debunking common breastfeeding myths. This intervention was delivered through a WhatsApp-based lecture ("Kulwap") on September 7, 2021, demonstrating a practical and accessible approach to reach the target audience. The results indicate a predominantly neutral to positive reception from participants, with 71.4% responding neutrally and 29.6% agreeing that the material presented was clear, beneficial for daily life, systematically organized, and sufficiently engaging. This immediate feedback suggests a favorable perception of the educational content and delivery method. In conclusion, this community engagement activity successfully contributed to enhancing participants' information regarding maternal nutrition during breastfeeding and dispelling common myths. The findings, while based on immediate participant feedback, underscore the value of accessible educational interventions in addressing critical public health issues. The paper's strength lies in its practical application and direct engagement with the community to tackle a significant knowledge gap. Future work could build upon this by exploring the long-term impact of such educational efforts on actual breastfeeding practices, nutritional outcomes, and behavior change, potentially employing more robust methods for impact assessment beyond immediate participant satisfaction.
