Abstract

Normal delivery in primigravidas is influenced by various factors, both physical and psychological. This study aims to analyze the factors that play a role in the success of normal delivery in primigravida. The method used is a literature review from various relevant journals and scientific articles. The results showed that maternal factors (strength of uterine contractions, mental readiness, age, nutritional status), fetal factors (placenta and fetal position), as well as psychosocial support, especially from the husband, contributed significantly to the success of normal delivery. Apart from that, education level, access to health services, and regular pregnancy checks are also the main supporting factors. With a better understanding of these factors, appropriate interventions can be carried out to increase the success rate of normal delivery in primigravida, thereby reducing the risk of complications for mother and baby.

Review

This paper, titled "Faktor Keberhasilan Persalinan Normal pada Primigravida," presents a relevant and focused literature review aiming to identify factors contributing to successful normal deliveries in primigravid women. The abstract clearly outlines the study's objective and summarizes a comprehensive array of findings, spanning maternal factors like uterine contractions, mental readiness, age, and nutritional status, alongside fetal considerations such as placental and fetal position. Crucially, it highlights the significant role of psychosocial support, particularly from the husband, and systemic factors like education level, health service access, and regular antenatal checks. The paper effectively sets the stage for understanding the multifaceted nature of successful birth outcomes in this population. A key strength of this review lies in its holistic approach, integrating not only biological and physical factors but also critical psychosocial and systemic elements often underappreciated in clinical discourse. The emphasis on mental preparedness, spousal support, and equitable access to healthcare provides a robust framework for understanding the complexities involved. For future iterations or a full manuscript, it would be beneficial for the methodology section to detail the scope of the literature review more explicitly, including the databases searched, the time frame of articles included, and the criteria for study selection. While the abstract provides a strong summary of findings, greater transparency regarding the synthesis process would further enhance the paper's academic rigor. In conclusion, this paper offers a valuable synthesis of current knowledge on factors influencing successful normal delivery in primigravidas, providing a solid foundation for both clinical practice and public health initiatives. By clearly delineating modifiable and supportive factors, it directly informs the development of targeted interventions aimed at improving maternal and neonatal outcomes. The findings underscore the importance of a comprehensive approach to antenatal care, encompassing physical, psychological, and social dimensions, thereby contributing significantly to efforts to reduce complications and foster positive birthing experiences for first-time mothers.
